Hey there, I'm Christina!

I’m currently a third-year student at Princeton University studying Sociology and Entrepreneurship.

Growing up working the front desk at my family’s Chinese restaurant, I learned how to deliver seamless customer service and user experience at a young age, but it was a lot of pressure! Drawing on menus and sketching on receipt paper was my earliest creative outlet.

I’m glad I found my way into design, where I can now synergize my background in hospitality, perseverance, and socially-driven decision-making to communicate digitally.

As a designer, I’m inspired by the hard work my parents instilled in me through the high pressures of running a restaurant every day. I hope to carry my background with pride into whatever challenges I take on to deliver a great experience—always.

What I've Been Up to:

Practicing Bouldering

Attempting to advance from V2s to V3s (I’m new haha)

Mentoring in Design

Leading and teaching design at the IC and Design Nation

Ranking Ramen

Compiling a list of all the yummy ramen restaurants I’ve been to

My Design Philosophy:  Be a Learner, Not a Knower

One of my favorite phrases comes from my dad: “It’s harder to go from 0 to 1 than it is to go from 1 to 100.”

What the phrase means it that starting is the hardest part of a process. This is pertinent in design, where initiative and intention are important. I want to design and make a change today, not tomorrow, or the day after. With this mindset comes a desire for continuous learning along the way and applying those lessons to empower the work I do. While there is a start and an end, the end doesn’t symbolize stopping. I like to think that we carry along our experiences into future ones. I acknowledge my flaws and I hope to always be confident enough to go from 0 to 1 and motivate myself to grow.

My Favorite Design Memories This Year:

Running my first UI/UX Workshop on wireframing.

Successfully hosting Princeton's Annual Design Competition.

Demoing my designs with the flock team in New York City.

Thanks for visiting, it means a lot! Let’s connect.
